My wife and I decided to do the paperwork for the adoption for me of her daughter because my wife had adopted her previously and the birth parents already had given up their rights so we thought it was too straight forward to pay the 2K (we don't have) to have a lawyer do it.
We found a outline online and the local court clerk gave us a checklist of what we needed to put on it. We submitted it and everything was good except for one thing we didn't state properly so it just needed to be amended and then the lady asked for a final order. Well...we don't know what a final order is nor what it should say. Does anyone have an idea about what that is and what it should say and can maybe give an example statement for one.
Thanks in advance.

She could be asking for the final adoption decree from when your wife adopted the child...
...or there could be a miscommunication and she is thinks you've already completed the step parent adoption and she's asking for the final adopton decree from when you adopted.
