My name is Sandy and I am a volunteer searcher..I have a son who is 15 and has Williams Syndrome..This is very very rare and is genetic..The number 7 chromosone is deleted..He is the sweetest child..I am just curious as to how many other people have heard of Williams Syndrome of have a child with Williams Syndrome??
When I was doing an intern with an early intervention program, my main responsibility was working with a little girl who had William's Syndrome. She was 3 at the time, but that was a long time ago. She's close to your son's age, I believe.
I did a lot of research on Williams Syndrome. I helped with her therapy. I made up songs to help her learn things she had a hard time with. She was one that responded very well to music.
Children with this syndrome are so very very sweet. Almost to the point of it being scary for the parents and care givers!

I work with someone who's daughter was just diagnosed this year ~2.5 though she is not adopted.
Yes, my son is so very very sweet. We live in a fairly small town and everyone here knows him and adores him. He is very polite and extremely social. Even though he is 15 yrs old, I have to keep a close watch on him because he has never met a stranger. He is always the first one to want to help someone and puts others needs and feelings before himself, every single time. God has truly blessed me with Sean..
