I'm on day 5 of pumping and I'm getting just under a 1/4 oz at every pumping session. Today I've started saving everything I pump. When did evryone else start saving and freezing? I'm just going to add what I pump to the same bag until I get an oz and then freeze it. Is that ok? Thanks for any input! :)

I think as long as you don't go over a week in the fridge before you freeze, you're fine. Also, if you freeze milk then thaw it, you can keep the thawed milk in the fridge for 24hrs. So it's not necessary to store in one ouce portions if you don't want to. I do about 6 oz bags so I'm not wasting storage bags. As your supply increases, you can do even more...eventually the baby will use lots of milk in a day.

I did just start pumping two or three weeks ago. I started out with less than 1/2 oz per time and saw a big increase when I started taking Mother's Milk Plus. The capsules are super expensive though ($24 for two weeks). I'm going to try taking fenugreek and blessed thistle capsules instead of Mother's Milk Plus. It's cheaper but you have to take a ton of pills a day. A poster on another thread said they used the liquid form of Mother's Milk Plus and it was cheaper than the pill form, but it's easier for me to do pills than drops.
I was pumping 8 times a day until my mom had a heart attack a week and a half ago. Now I'm at about 4 times a day because I'm spending a lot of time with her and don't have as many opportunities to pump. She should be going home this weekend so I should get back on schedule then. Haven't started night pumping because of all that's been going on I need my sleep. Hopr to start that soon.

I would start saving as soon as you can! I wish I would have saved more but looking at the freezer filling up, I never would have though I would need so much. I only saved less than half of what I pumped over a 6 month period and now I ahve to supplement with formula :( If you have to supplement, you will go through it fairly quickly. Save, Save Save!
Another thing you can do is "stack" the milk in the freezer. Start out by freezing the milk from one pumping session in a container that can be added to. When you get more milk, chill it in the fridge and then add it to the all ready frozen milk. If you freeze it as soon as you express it, it will keep longer in the freezer or after you thaw it.
