I am with an organization called Bags Not Rags. As most of you know, the norm in this country is for a child to use a trash bag as luggage when place into foster care. We want to eliminate this by encouraging individuals to donate their duffels, totes, back packs, luggage, diaper bags, etc [anything collecting dust these children can use rather than those horrible trash bags] to our organization or directly to their local DSS who can in turn offer these bags to the children rather than the trash bags.
We really need to hear from foster kids, prior foster kids, foster parents, adoptive parents, social workers, etc about your experiences in foster care. We want to really bring to light the experiences surrounding foster care and in turn, help provide where the government can't. Please visit our Share Your Story page to tell us about your experience.
Bags Not Rags wants foster children to only see trash bags where they belong... in a trash can.
