I've long thought Mondk is less than truthful in many of her posts, but it's nothing one can really prove. Just stuff I find unbelievable and of course she's got more drama in her life in teeny little town middle of nowhere than most members on the board!
Her latest thread? http://forums.adoption.com/general-adoptive-parent-support/377589-dealing-extremely-rude-houseguest.html I don't believe it. I find it truly unreal that someone would come into one's home and be that vile and rude. Just doesn't happen in any experience I've ever known.
I know she's bipolar and sometimes I wonder if she stops her meds or has days where she just goes "off", kwim? And makes stuff up?
I don't know, but it bugs me. Can't stand her or the lies I believe she comes up with. I posted on her thread saying "hmmm...interesting that in my entire life I've NEVER heard of such a rude houseguest, but there's a first time for everything". but didn't submit. Ugh.
Deb - I find myself checking things out of those people..I do! I tried to pull up the t.v. schedule for Sesame Street after reading her post! Sigh!
Brandy...that's definitely going to stir things up! LOL!

Hasn't so far, though... Sadly, though, I can imagine "houseguests" like that... I haven't had them in my home, but you would be amazed what people expect churches and pastors to do and how abusive they are when you say no. (As a kid I was cursed out when I answered the phone and told the caller the doctor wasn't there! )
Thing is, with cable and satallite TV and DVRs you really could watch Seseme Street any day, any time. (Which at least would be better than the 24/7 availibility of Hannah Montana!)
I think we are both putting WAY too much thought into this. ;)
Personally I am bothered more by the pompus, holier than thou, 'My child is God's gift to the universe and perfect in every way and would never, ever do X, Y Z. I just wouldn't allow it' people. Good luck with that!
Yes, I have issues and I admit it. :)

But, parenting a perfect child is hard....I know! :p
ROFL!
Do you do perfect child training, or do they have to be born that way? We are having some rolling of eyes and sighing issues lately that a good parent would never allow to happen. Obviously either he or I need training. ;)

Debbie,
You're paying for your raising - there is no getting around it.
Admit it now, you were a difficult child, weren't you?
Ok. Now you have been talking to my mother??
It actually is funny how many of the things that my kids do that drive me batty are things that I did as a child. And my mother does thinks it is just wonderful. She is loving every minute of me having a hormonal, eye rolling, sighing 11 year old, a 6 year old who still doesn't sleep worth beans, and a 7 year old who can throw up at the drop of a hat. She definetly figures I had it all coming!
But I never, ever, say "My child would never . . . . " or judge anyone else's parenting without being in their shoes. Because the moment I do . . .

Yeah... that's why I never wanted perfect children... I'm lazy. (BTW, I have 3 adult children I'd like to give away right now... any takers?)
My kids are obviously messed up after reading much on the peeved thread and the food thread.;)
We can't all be perfect though so I'm wearing my "Flawed Family" badge proudly!!!
Kathy - No, sorry...I've seen the other side briefly and I'm in no hurry to get there!

Glad mine aren't the only ones! (Though I am sure if I asked it would be my own fault!)
Kathy - I will trade one adult child for one 7-year-old with a stomach bug. ;)
Umm... one thing with adult children is that you get their children too. Currently I have a 6yr old and a 16yr old in residence. Do you want the 34yr old or the 32year old....? (The 38 yr old is in the process of moving to TN...and oops, he's not mine to give away.)
Hmmm . . . . decisions, decisions. I am kind of maxed out on the six year olds. Could I take the 16 year old (does he/she have a driver's license?) and the 34 year old? I am sending my 11 year old to Brandy for perfect training. :D
No driver's license or permit yet. He turned 16 when we were in CO last week. Shaunie's dad is the 34 yr old who also has a 4 month old.

that's what my mom did. stopped her meds and literally came up with the craziest stories you have ever heard of....weirder than this house guest story. when we talked with the police about what she was saying and doing their first question was "is she bipolar?"
insane.
i love brandy's post.

Oooooooh . . . . a four month old to snuggle with would be wonderful!
