Did you guys get professional photos done for the required photos for your application and other documents? I'm realizing there isn't a decent picture of me without holding a baby or cooking or something. I'm wondering if I should just make an appointment and get some professional individual and family pictures knocked out. Would appreciate your feedbacks.

I think the wait is much easier now that I have kids at home. I was much more on edge last time around. However it still ain't easy! :)Right now I am day dreaming about how I'm going to do her room. I found such awesome fabric that I want to make into full length drapes across a whole wall... but I am too nervous to move forward yet. ;)Feel free to join us on the other thread!
Each agency wants different things. In general, the only formal pictures that are needed are for your passport and visa, and they need to be the right size and shape. The officials generally like to see a picture of your whole family together, neatly dressed, and then some informal shots of family members doing the things they like. As an example, if you ride horses, a picture on horseback would be good. Or if your husband restores old cars, then a picture of him with his favorite "project" would be appropriate. You may also be asked for a couple of shots of your house. But don't start doing things until your agency gives you guidance.

We didn't do any professional pictures but we had some really nice ones of the kids from Easter and when my parents were in town we had them take a few of us so that we could fill in the gaps. I ended up ordering a ton off of snapfish, narrowing it down to 14, then sending them to Sue and asking her to choose which ones actually went from there. She told me to choose mostly warm and fuzzy family pictures (so we had some of us sitting on the couch reading to the kids, playing a board game, Christmas, Easter, traveling - things that we do regularly with the kids).
Good luck - that and writing the Dear Birthmom letter were the hardest for me!

hmmm my agency gave specific directions. family in home no pets. couple only. pic of one room. I am a professional photographer so the pics were professional. :) I have the Best photos of us looking really good (by that i mean happier pretty and thinner than we really are). I didn't send them because I was told the agencies like somewhat formal conservative photos. I wonder if I sent the wrong ones? hmmmm.. maybe i'll ask the agency which ones they sent? this stuff really worries me.
