My adoption was never oficial, but in 1971 my birth parents gave me away to my adoptive parents. I have a receipt for the first payment with the lawyer's name on it, but because of money issues, they were never able finalize my adoption.
Is there a way to find the records... I am unable to read the name of the lawyer. My adoptive father is no longer alive and he was the one who dealt with the lawyer.
I have my birth certificate and the names of my birth parents. From research from a friend of mine, my birth mother is deceased, but I am still unable to find my birth father and brother and sisters... Both of my fathers were stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in 1971. My birth date is 8/18/1971.
