Long time no check in, sorry - life gets BUSY!
Anyway, Lil J's case is adoption and we have a bonding evaluation scheduled at the end of Sept.
Just wondering what this entails, what to expect, etc
Thanks

We've done two. Both consisted of child going into small room with psychologist (psychiatrist? I always get them mixed up) and bio parents for 30 min-1 hour.
Then husband and I go in the room. Doctor asks us questions about child and us and home life while s/he observes us play with child.
That's it!
Oh but the second one we did, it was terrible, the doc made us go out and close the door and leave our scared crying screaming 2 year old alone in the room with him so he could observe how he behaved when removed from us.

MyColony, so happy to hear about your progress!! Gigisam covered most of it. When the doctor asked us to leave the room, I started to explain to Z where we were going, and he protested. The doctor told us that was fine, he didn't need to see anymore. So we avoided the actual leaving & freakout. I brought a few toys with us, since I didn't know what would be available - a few little wind up toys that Z hadn't seen before.
