Hello Everyone,
I am new here. I am a military spouse and vet. My hubby transfers in 13 months. We finished with fertility meds recently and are eager to pursue adoption. My concern is that we spend a ton of money with an agency and then transfer before the adoption is finalized. I am afraid we would lose the money invested and have to start from the beginning again. Can someone tell me what a good route would be in our case. My hubby is going back to sea duty and we wanted to get this moving before he has to go. I read some brief information on the forum about finding a "National" agency. Will adoption agencies honestly tell you that they can help you if you move to another state? Any advice would be much appreciated. On another note, are post-placement studies (if required) able to be done in a state the adoption was not finalized in? There is so much to figure out!!:grr:

we are working with an international agency that can place in any state, we hope to have the adoption finalized before we pcs next year, but if not, we will have to update our home study which may run another $1500. our post adoption reports will have to come from another agency, but that is not a problem. we live in a state that has a complicated readopt process, so hoping we can do that in a state that is easier.
