This is something I should have asked, but didn't when we were in the licensing process. I've since heard bits and pieces, but that has me even more confused.
How does Marion County handle placements? I heard that the homefinders handle this now. Does that mean you only get cases assigned to your homefinder, or what?
We have been licensed for a few days now, and didn't really expect to get a placement yet, because of the storm, but we know it's coming, so I just wanted to understand the process better.
I'm not from Marion county so I can't help alot down there.. sorry! Up where I am (north central) we are working with a regional system. We have 2 foster care specialists who are supposed to make all the placements for the counties (5 I think?) in our region. Good luck! Hopefully someone from Marion Co will jump on and help you out. One thing you'll learn about our lovely state is that no two counties ever seem to do things the same LOL!

you just go into the computer with details. There are homefinders on call, they take their turns on the phone. Your worker takes care of your licensing issues. You can ask to be put on the list for emergency list, that was how I got my last placement.
