We got news today that the baby girl we have been waiting for for the past 4 1/2 months was born 2 days ago. The birthparents tried to take her home, and child services was called. She was released from the hospital today to foster care, and we just found out all of this happed hours ago.
This is her 7th baby, but all have been taken by children's services. My heart is broken today, and I don't know how to wrap my mind around this. Social worker is driving to her house to see if she realizes, now that children's services has stepped in, the likelihood of her getting to parent is low. But, if she doesn't choose us, the baby may just go into the foster care system.
Anyone know how a case like this shakes out? Baby is in Florida, and we are out-of-state. We are completing banking it all on the ability of the social worker to talk some sense into her. It is killing me that someone states away is giving my daughter a bottle.
