I'm pretty new to this whole process, but it seems like the process for kinship adoption/legal guardianship, etc is different enough that it would be nice to have a board specific for those of us going through the process this way. It would also be great to be able to post about dealing with BM/BD that we happen to be related. Thanks!

that is a great idea. (and welcome!)most of our kinship questions get posted under adoptive parents -> relative adoption supportit would make sense to have a pre-adoption area as well, as that's when people have the most need :)Our local fapa is doing a half day workshop on kinship placements. Its in 2 weeks - i can't wait. It would be nice to have a specific area to post what i learnoh - and feel free gto PM is you need any input - or someone to vent to

As Wcurry said, kinship will fall under our relative adoption support forum which is located here. http://forums.adoption.com/relative-adoption-support/It's hard to have a specific forum for each circumstance so it is necessary to have an umbrella forum if you will for things that are in the minority in the overall adoption process. We recognize we won't specifically cover everyone or their relationships. One suggestion might be when you start a thread, you can title it "Kinship" or whichever term applies to your situation and then the people involved in similar situations will be more apt to read and post.:)
