I thought for Adoption Awareness month some of you might be willing to share some ideas and thoughts on how to educate others about your "side" of things.
One area I know is lacking in education and sensitivity is when people first start the process and are looking to adopt. Having met so many both IRL & on here, I really do believe most have great intentions and do want to do things right. Still...there's naiveness and even ignorance that then can come off as "Slam Bam, thanks for the baby!", which is of course not what we want to see.
So...if you were writing a letter to a prospective aparent to gently educate them on what support really means to you as a first parent, things that they might not see or consider, what would you say?
