I am wondering if anyone out there had a lawyer look at the adoption agency agreement before they signed it. We are probably gonna have this done.
I did not, when I adopted from China. My agency had been doing adoptions for 20 years or so, and had a stellar reputation, in our area, for ethical practices and great client service. Its fees were low, its practices were conservative, and I had absolutely no qualms about it. I had a wonderful experience and brought home the child of my dreams.

We did not either. Our homestudy agency is a very well established and reputable organization in Chicago, so we had absolutely no concerns in signing any of their documents. For our international agency, we were a little nervous because all were relatively small agencies, but besides receiving positive reviews from other who used them, our agency told us to make sure they were COA accredited and members of JCSIS. In fact, they said they would not work with an agency that wasn't, which narrowed our choices to two.
Sorry I did not state this too clearly, more than two agencies fit these categories, but of the three we had narrowed it down to, only two fit.
