Hi, I am very new here...and to the adoption journey. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed today, and it seems like this is a good place to come for support. I know that God's plan is the best possible plan...and that He is faithful...yet, I look at the stack of application paperwork and I feel like I will be doing paperwork and collecting data and documents for the next year!LOL! Add to that regular life stuff(Taxes, my oldest sons college FAFSA stuff)...and I can't see the top of the mountain of paper! We have been doing our research for quite a long time now and we are both very excited to finally be ON the journey...but, at the same time, scared...anxious...wondering IF we will be "good enough"...thinking about how old our home is and how much "fixer up" is left to do...we aren't rich...we have big dogs...you name it!LOL! I've seen much of it here...I know I am in good company...and it is a very nice thing to know!
My specific prayer request is that we would continue to hear God's direction clearly and that He would clearly reveal the age range and details on what our "preferences" (for lack of a better term) should be...and peace in our hearts as we attack this mountain with His help! I know it's going to be a long haul...
Thanks so much for "listening"! I am really looking forward to getting to know the community here!

We were where you are in July '10. We looked at the paperwork and cost and felt overwhelmed and frustrated. We finally looked at each other and laughed. Why do we need to worry? We need to turn it over to God! We prayed about our adoption journed and felt we were led to drop the agency and do foster/adopt locally. We started foster parent program thru DHR. We learned so much! They did our backgrounds, fingerprints, physicals, homestudy, and CPR class FREE. In week 5 of the 10 week class, we were contacted by a family friend. She knew someone that was placing a child. Long story short, God led us to this young couple on September 2 and on October 5, we attended the birth of our beautiful son. We discovered that in August, as we were having work done to our home, the birthfather actually hung the sheetrock in my son's room. He was working in our home because the contractor (who is also a preacher) brought him to work as a favor! Yes, they know where we live, they live 20 miles from us, and yes, we stay in contact (limited). Funniest God moment? Birthparents and both siblings are blonde as is my hubby. I am brunette/blue eyes. Our son - burnette/blue eyes. Hehehehe! Our son is the love of our lives and all of the frustrations and trials seem trivial now. I am 40, my hubby 47. I feel that if I had "pushed God's hand" and pursued another options, it would not have been this "easy". I tell you this to say that you should trust God completly. Don't go half way. His plan is perfect. Need encouragment or prayer, feel free to PM me or post here! This is a great site for it!! Good luck and God bless!
WOW! That timeline is stunning! I will pm you definitely! But, I will just say here, I know that I know that I know God has a plan...and He already has a child He wants to place in our care! Ours will be a story of Him using "Broken vessels" =) to further His kingdom...I can just feel it! =) More in the pm! Thanks so much!!
I'm excited for you! We first wanted to fost-adopt an Asian baby-girl aged 0-2. When we were told that it would be close to impossible to have that preference met, we opened ourselves up to short-term and emergency-shelter foster care. God gave us 5 little ones to care for, one after the other. We waited almost 2 months for our first placement.
We have two young bio sons and our third was to be born in December of 2009. Our 13-month-old foster daughter was moved to another home 2 weeks before our third son was born. We thought we would take a break, since I would be way too tired to care for 4 little ones.
So I guess God already planned for my tiredness, because 6 months later he sent us a 15-year-old Asian girl! Well we NEVER imagined that we would be open to a teenager since our kids are still all age 5 and under. Our daughter has been with us for almost 8 months now and we would have it no other way.
We don't know if she will decide to be adopted into this family, but it just goes to show you that even though our profile said one thing, the agency still asked if we would be open to someone entirely different. Praise God for His perfect timing and placements!

Considering the above new york asian escorts mentioned, we can come to the conclusion that to give up wisely is a kind of new york escorts more mature life attitude. Though giving up sometimes is ny escorts painful and costly,in the long run what we nyc escorts gain will definitely far out weight what we lose.
