Thanks for your quick reply! I am so excited for you..how long is the waiting process? Are you looking to adopt a specific gender? We finished our homestudy in September and were matched with 30 days! We were not prepared as we were told it could take up to 6 mos. so were were quite surprised and scrambled around to make things happen and now have 2 infants that require round the clock attention :).

I'm your next-door county neighbor....same county Jeepgal is in...but am in my 30s, just the socal titles always grab my attention....

Hi - I am in east San Diego county and just beginning the process...and I am 46, so I already feel pressured for time you could say. I am also single, though I have a great live-in boyfriend of 6 years (my choice not to marry). So I am a couple, but not officially. You can see I have my challenges ahead of me. I also have limited funds to spend on adoption, so even though it is not my first choice at all I am looking at the foster system. I feel like my biggest challenge is cost, so that is what concerns me most. Then being single. Support? Yes, I could use it, and would love to hear your stories!Renee

HI Renee-Im just up the freeway from you in Temecula.I am 49. We started the process last year in January. We didnt have the money to go private adoption, so we went with adoption through fostercare. We did receive one preadoptive placement of a two year old and a three year old. We have had 4 telephone calls that we have turned down:( Yesterday we received another telephone call which might be a possiblity, we are waiting to hear more.The process is a long and emotional rollercoaster.
