Has anyone ever gotten their records opened in the state of Louisiana? The laws are so strict here and I could use all the help I can get. I was in a closed adoption through Volunteers of America in 1986.
Have you registered at DSS Adoption Reunion Registry? Link below takes you to their page and the link below that is the brochure. It is a passive registry but seeing how you were born in the 80's you may have some luck that way.

Have you asked VOA what they can do?
Signed up and searched the reunion registry on this site?
Signed up with ISRR.net?
Kind regards,

Thanks for all your help! I have done all of those things, as well as registered on every adoption search website I could find, searched in yearbooks at the local library, etc. I can't think of anything else to do next except petition the court, which is quite a process.

I know how you feel. I was born in Franklin LA my birth-mom and her family moved from Texas to Morgan city and then when i was born and she gave me up they moved back.
I was adopted thru a lawyer though and he wont help me. I don't know what to do.
