Very few children are now adopted from Samoa (one each in 2007 and 2008). If you check down near the bottom of the first link, you will see there was a peak between 2002 and 2005. This is explained in the second link. Polynesian nations have a different concept of adoption and that was taken advantage of. I just reread this and wanted to clarify - your title says Samoa, but in the message you say American Samoa. Which one are you considering as that would make a difference.

American Samoa, I looked at the link you sent me in the prior reply and it appeared to be Western Samoa, which would also work if possible. Thanks by the way the link, it appears to be very informative..
