Finally after what feels like years of waiting we are settled in our big old farmhouse with lots of rooms and lots of land to roam. So we finally got to make the call to get the process started. After about 5 minutes of questions I informed them we are looking for older sibling groups but are open to ANYTHING! Well little did I know that was the right thing to say apparently there is NO homes available for siblings in our county. So at that point the secretary said if we are ready to start it will move real quick. The supervisor will be in tomorrow and she expects she will want to come out for the first meeting ASAP. My question is what should I expect from this meeting? We are still working on the house painting redoing floors etc. will that be a problem. We can have it done in the few next few weeks if we start moving our butts lol. After hearing how much they need a sibling home I'm heading to HOME Depot to buy everything and whip this house into shape. My other question is I have heard horror stories of tons of problems, things being lost etc. How can i try to make this smooth as possible to move this along as quick as possible.
They will understand that you are finishing up a few projects. Get them done as quickly as possible and you won't have any problems.
Good luck and welcome aboard the exciting train of foster parenting.

Make copies of every piece of paper you hand in. Then, if something gets lost, you'll have a copy. Try not to worry too much about the physical condition of the house. In my experience that part will go much more easily than you think! We all clean like crazy, but they are really looking for safety issues.
Welcome aboard!
