I have a limited amount of information about my half sister. Don't currently know the name of the home but have some descriptions of what it looked like. The birth was at the home, where there were medical facilities available. It was not at a hospital.
I have come across some of the well known homes from that time but am having trouble finding a pic of the FC home.
Any guidance and help in continuing my search is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Rachel
rlmugsy,
You should contact the Missouri Department of Family Services below and find out exactly what they will do regarding searching but fill out the release regardless. The full details of the law can be found in the link below the quoted parts.
The department shall maintain a registry for birth parents, adult siblings, and adult adoptees to indicate their desire to be contacted by each other. At the time of registration, a birth parent or adult sibling may consent in writing to the release of identifying information to an adult adoptee. If such consent has not been executed and the division believes that a match has occurred, the division shall make confidential contact with the birth parents or adult siblings and with the adult adoptee. The birth parent, adult sibling, or adult adoptee may refuse to go forward with any further contact between the parties when contacted by the division.

In addition you will want to search and post your search in the adoption registry on this site (see reunite tab above). When you search do not include the day of birth and check any that have similar details - they changed the actual day of birth for many of us back then.
I would also go to ISRR.net and fill out the forms for your search.
Good luck,
Dickons
