hi all
I am helping out a friend from Germany who has a referral. They are leaving next week to B to see the little guy.
When we adopted from Russia back in 2005 we were able to fly in a Russian adoption specialist to assist us with the medical assessment and any concerns we might have. Best money we had ever spent - it was worth every dime.
Are there any adoption specialists/doctors in Bulgaria who will travel with you to the orphanage?
There are obviously many resources in the US but I was wondering if there is anybody local.
The medical report they received did not look so good.

I am not aware of this for Bulgaria, but perhaps they could ask their agency. One note, though, Bulgarian medical records are often painted very grimly. My oldest daughter was supposed to be celiac, and my youngest have Hep B. Both are fine, and neither had the condition. I know if a girl brough home with a supposed heart defect - no defect existed! So, not to say that the medical is wrong and the child is healthy, but from my experience, it is a cultural thing to make the kids appear sicker than they are. Good luck.
