I am in the process of adopting my wife's son. We have our home visit this week and this is moving quickly. During the past year, I have been working hard on improving my credit. I don't have any recent dings and am in a program for rehabilitating defaulted student loans. Does anyone know whether or not a credit check is part of the background check? There is no other part of the background investigation that is intimidating to me, but this sure is.
