TPR was Dec 2010, bio mom appealed, just found out that the appeal has been dismissed. I'm in Sacramento County, does anyone know what the process is now? Haven't got a hold of our SW yet? Our FS has already been in our home over 6 months. How long does it usually take to finalize???

We adopted our now 7 year old daughter from foster care in California. Once the appeal was dismissed we finalized within 30 days!! Congrats!

i think that means you are probably on your way to finalization. :) i don't know how long it will take....i think it depends on what your county is up to.

Why did it take so long for them to decide to dismiss the appeal? How long was the appeal waiting period? I am also in Sac County and TPR was granted on my case end of May.

They told us to expect to wait 9-12 months just because it sits in the Appelate court in a pile and is not a high priority to get to the case.

It will take a week or too to sign the adoption agreement (depends on how long your SW takes writing up the docs). Then about 30 days after that to get a court date to finalize. It's getting close! What a weight off your shoulders! Congrats on this big step!

Remittitur was finally issued so we are going in to sign the AAP paperwork 8/30!!! So excited it's finally here!!!
