Please outline exact steps of Stepparent Adoption

Hi, Could someone please outline the exact steps for a stepparent adoption? There are some AWESOME forms on here, but I am a bit confused as to what needs to be filed and when. I understand: 1. Step 1: File the original petition, the interstate, and the info affidavit with the court 2. Wait for them to assign you someone to do the homestudy 3. ONCE THE HOMESTUDY AND CRIMINAL REPORT ARE IN- THEN WHAT??? When do you actually turn in the final ORDER for the judge to sign? How do you get a final court date? Do you have to request it in writting? THANKS!!!
