I'm 17 and have been in contact with my bmom since May. It started off as e-mails, and then Facebook, and then texting, and there have been a total of two calls (I'm not a huge fan of talking on the phone). I've e-mailed a bit with my bdad too, but I don't feel the same connection to him that I do to my bmom. Anyways.
I also have two half brothers on my bmom's side. They both have known about me for their entire lives, and they think of me as their sister. My bmom keeps pictures of me up around her house and celebrates my birthday every year. She says I come up in conversation regularly. My youngest brother who is 8 right now doesn't fully understand the whole adoption thing, so he has always asked why he can't just call or visit me, which I think is absolutely adorable. He had a school project a couple of weeks ago where he had to bring in something that represented something he wants to do, so he brought in a picture of me and said he wanted to go to NY to meet me :)
ANYWAYS. I could ramble about those boys forever. I'm going to CA Thursday night to meet them. I won't actually meet them until Friday since our flight gets in really late, but I'm spending the weekend in CA with my aparents. I just don't know what to expect. Do we hug when we see each other? How will the boys react (if any of you have ever met bio sibs this young)? Will things be awkward or will things just click? What about my aparents?
I'm really going into this entire thing blind, which kinda freaks me out. Don't get me wrong, I'm soo excited and I'm sure it will be a good experience because our relationship is great as it is. I just feel so unprepared.
It depends. I'm much older than you (43) and met my bfamily a few years ago. My bmom and I clicked before we met f2f, but I had not met my brothers. We had text, and emailed, but never talked. It went fine. Nice and relaxed.
I'd tell you not to worry, but it won't do any good! Enjoy!

BUCCi - How did your meeting go? It sounds like you were on the right track. I am almost in the same spot as you were and am curious if you have any suggestions or tips you could help me out with.
