Hey all!
My husband and I are moving to Arizona from Virginia. He's in the Airforce and we just got orders to transfer to the Davis-Monthan base in Tucson. We also believe that this will be the last base we'll be stationed at.
We've been trying for a little over a year to conceive, with no luck. While we're disappointed, we discussed adoption before. My mother was adopted and it was a blessing. She came from a rough home and blossomed into an amazing woman thanks to my grandparents.
Also, I have lupus. While I'm very lucky that it's been in remission, it was a difficult road getting there. I'm conflicted about having a child of my own and passing the disease on to him/her.
My husband has a daughter from a previous marriage and is a wonderful father to her. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be an incredible parent to our child.
Now that we're settling down and will have a stable home environment (no more moving! Yay!), I want to look into the adoption process. Where should I look? What are the costs involved? What's involved in the adoption process?
Any information would be very greatly appreciated.
Thank you all so much. :)
