We are leaving for the beach soon and I need some hairdo ideas for S. I can usually get a week or more out of a hairstyle, but with all the wind and sand I need something to hold up against it because we won't have her high chair to keep her still for me to restyle it while there. I would say her hair type is a 4a, its super soft, but teeny tiny ringlets. Thanks for any ideas!!

Hey good luck... all that sand is a PIA. :)
I think free hair might be difficult in that it'll be harder to get the sand out. (I saw your cross posted thread where that was recommended.)
I think styles that tie most of the hair up would resist sand better. At least with my girls it has. I haven't tried them in sand with free hair yet. Usually I can brush some of the sand off the parts close to the scalp and the braids or twists don't tend to retain it quite as much.
I just wanted to add that I was recently on a road trip and we brought along a blue plastic booster seat with straps so I could do hair. If you are flying you could consider getting one while you are there since they aren't that expensive.
Have a great time and let us know how it goes. I hope you all have lots of fun. :)

This is probably not what you want to hear, but I think there is nothing that can stop sand. Ugh! We decided on free hair for our beach trip because we had to wash it out frequently anyway so it was easier to wash and go than try to re-style.
Let us know what works for you! (My daughter also has 4a hair)
I'm thinking of a protective style for the ride down and then see how long it lasts. I plan to do her hair tomorrow night, so it will be the first full day with it in the car, see how many days we make it at the beach before it needs to be redone. Hoping we can even get out to the sand with all the storms! Wish us luck!
