I'll preface with the fact that we're in Pennsylvania. But I've been following this thread because we'll be going over our adoption subsidy paperwork shortly.
In my county, if the kids qualify for the subsidy it is offered without negotiation and the "adoption subsidy cannot exceed the foster care rate." It is the same rate.
I am considering asking that the subsidy increases with the current foster care rate but not lower than $18 per day (our current per diem.)
Do adoption subsidies automatically increase when FC rates increase? Or do you have to request it?
Is there anyway that I could be shooting myself in the foot by broaching this?

I know here in Indiana when we adopted our daughter she qualified for 75% of the per diem which at the time was $25/day so we get around $18.75/day. In the "contract" we signed the only thing I can remember is there was a statement in there that the rates could change at any time, increase or decrease but we were not given any options in Indy to request an increase.
