I have a house with a fully furnished basement we have 2 spare bedrooms in our basements for family when they come to visit. I am planning on turning one bedroom into a babies room and wanting to know if they required a newborn infant to be on the same floor as the parents? My wife and I master bedroom in on the main floor. We plan to put a monitor as well as a tv monitor in the babies room. We want to know if the homestudy will approve us if we have those sleeping arrangement's.

Every area is different. Each state has laws, each county has laws, and each agency has regulations. Even each social worker has preferences! Not only do you have to think about the "on a different floor" part, but also the "in the basement" part. Some areas do not permit foster children's bedrooms to be in the basement. Your best bet is to call your worker and ask. (Or depending on where you are in your timeline, you can ask this question in orientation or classes.)
