Hi Everyone!
I met and am being considered for matching with a 12 yr old girl in SB county. I live in LA County and my worker has told me that she really knows nothing about how SB operates. There are several other families being considered and she suggested I assume I will not be chosen so that I won't be disappointed 'when' I am not selected.
Since I see the glass as half full rather then close to empty (LOL) I will instead focus on the following (and thank you SB folks if you know any of the following:
~ What kind of time frame can you generally expect for a matching meeting? (In LA for example it is usually 1-2 weeks)
~ Anything in particular I should know about SB county while waiting for the decision?
Thanks very much for your time. :)

So I still don't know. The county said they would let me know yesterday since my worker has Fridays off (ugg that is another thing I could vent about) They didn't contact me though, so its not looking good. I would think if I was selected they would have thought to let me know yesterday after the matching meeting. sigh.
I'm really starting to seriously reconsider EVERYTHING. This is just another in a long line of disappointments and delays, all part and parcel of Los Angeles County and how they do things. I feel taken for granted (understatement). I don't know.
Got the word from my worker that I was not selected. She was emailed last Thursday, but since she was out of the office until yesterday at about noon.... Thanks for your good thoughts and what is most important is that fd is being placed in the best home for her.

Robin were you matched with another child? Your sig says you were matched. Update us please. How exciting.
Yes. I posted about the match on another thread. She is nine years old and we started the transition last week, I'm thirilled and so is she. I posted about it on a matching thread over in adoption support too. :)
