This will be a long post, so please bear with me. My brother had a baby with N in 2008 and they were not ever in a relationship. My brother C had not supported my niece financially other than giving our Mom 50-60 bucks here and there. He sees her every weekend, but she spends most of the time with my Mom. Until this point he has not paid child support, he only pays for my nieces medical assistance. N wanted to work it out outside of the court system, but I feel itҒs now backfiring on her.
He has now managed to knock up a new girl and N has filed for child support as of yesterday. This did not go over well with my brother and in anger he called CPS on her this morning. Last week my niece told us that N hit her in the face. My niece has been spitting and acting out so N, literally tapped her on the cheek no red mark, she didnt even cry. I was there I saw it in person. Fast forward a few days my niece tells my brother this and nothing is really said about it, in fact that weekend he gave her a spanking for the same thing.
The only reason he called CPS is because of my niece telling him about N tapping her on the face. He is angry that N wants child support and I donҒt understand why he had to do this. Anyways,
What happens now? I called the emergency CPS number this morning and told them that he called in the complaint out of spite because of child support. I gave my name and number and Im also going to fax in a notarized statement.
Will they investigate this? Did I make it worse by calling in and telling them he did this out of anger and spite?
WeҒre in MN, but if anyone has any idea what would happen now please let me know. This is a brief overview of the situation so feel free to ask me questions to clarify anything.
I think this is BS, he is taking away time and energy and resources from children who really need it.
