I've just begun my search less than a month ago, a little before my 42nd birthday, and I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner. Being adopted has always been at the back of my mind, but now, with my original birth certificate perhaps just a few weeks away, curiosity is beginning to consume me.
I would like any natural family members reading this to know that I was intensely curious about my natural family as a teen, but about the only resources available at that time were books and mail-in reunion registries which I wasn't even old enough for at the time anyway. I kind of lost interest in my 20s and 30s, probably because I didn't really feel I had everything in my life nailed down, and also because I was having a lot of fun and not being very introspective.
Well, I'm almost 42 now and I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful children. I still probably don't have all of my s$@% together but I have enough of it together where I'd like to meet members of my natural family who would like to meet me. This would include my birth mother, birth father, and any of their relatives.
I've received the following info from the state already: the hospital that I was born in and the ages of my birth parents on 12/23/1969. I also know which agency I was adopted through. Obviously, I would expect anyone responding to this to know that information too.
