We started this journey in Sept and just this past week got the license through our FFA. We are first going for adoption of a special needs girl before we foster.
We were told of a little one and we agreeded we wanted to have our homestudy submited for her---but now what? The wait is killing me. :)
There are a total of three girls on photolist that we would love to submit our homestudy for consideration but what is protcol as to how many homestudies you can have out at once. Our agency works with many counties so that opens us to more counties.
So excited to have maken it this far in our journey but can't wait until the next stage of adding to our family.

We are in Northern Ca. After we submitted our homestudy we either didn't hear anything or our social worker would let us know that she found out that someone else was chosen. We submitted ourselves for probably 14 ish kids/sibling sets before we were chosen. We have friends that were picked the first time.Good luck! The wait is nerve wracking but in retrospect it wasn't that bad for us.

We are still waiting to hear back something on the homestudy we submited 8 days ago. The AW said it can take several weeks to hear back one way or another due to the childs's SW being overworked. We jump each time the phone rings so this will be a long few weeks. :p
Every time we get a call from familiy members the first question they ask is have you heard anything?
I know a few weeks is nothing but just excited for the next step in our lives.

Well we are still waiting to meet her. We are matched and the telling went well. We are fine with her medical issues. Due to vacations of one of the SW over the holidays and now this week we just have to wait until the end of the month to meet her and do a one week transition with her so we can bring her hom. I can't wait until we can get our hands on her. :cheer:

Baby girl is home!!! :cheer: She is doing very well. We were expecting the worst but it has all went smoothly. She is 17 months old and just so stinking cute! Her medical issues are not as bad as we were led to believe. We have talke to all her doctors and have a lot better picture of the complete package. We are so in love with her already. Tomorrow is a welcome to our home party with our family and close friends coming over to meet her.
Things are going great! TPR took place the day after baby girl came home to us. She has done amazing through the transition. Even a SW that had given us a hard time admited this is the best health, developmental, and happiness that they had seen in her.
Thanks for everyone's support in this roller coaster of a world that we have entered. :love:
The love world is big, which can hold hundreds of disappointments;
the love world is small which is crowded even with three people inside.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one,
so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
