So our new son and daughter moved in on 11-11-11 and things are going pretty much exactly as expected. Last week the caseworker mentioned that she mentioned to her boss the possibility of moving the adoption up :cheer: The CASA and their therapist also agree, and even our caseworker said that the norm after placement is 6 months but he has seen some adoptions finalize sooner than that. So, my question is this, do you think it is possible that we really could finalize prior to May? If so, what should we know, ask prior to the hearing? Do you recommend viewing the kids case file? Other recommendations? It seems that each step of this process just brings more questions!
Thanks!

We finalized one of our sons early in IN. To get it done, the DCS CW had to submit a request to her supervisor and the district supervisor. We then had to have a meeting with those individuals where they went over the request, our home study, his file, etc. Basically making sure we really did want to adopt him and we wanted to waive the 6 month wait. After that was done, we were able to view his file. You should definitely do that!As far as the timing, totally possible! :) Our son came home 4/11, we had signed consents from bios about a week later (unexpectedly), and we finalized on 10/30. All depends on how fast your CW gets things done and how fast your county court can get you in.
