Suggs has 'no intention' of Ravens playing in Pro Bowl
Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Terrell Suggs said in the wake of Tuesdays Pro Bowl roster announcement that his team is aiming higher.
ғI have no intentions of playing in the Pro Bowl, Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Terrell Suggs said, according to the teamԒs Twitter page.?
Suggs was selected to his fifth Pro Bowl on Tuesday, but moments after the official announcement let it be known he'd rather not be playing in Hawaii in late January.
I plan on being in practice with my teammates getting ready for the Super Bowl.Ӕ
While that remains to be seen, a confident Suggs raises an interesting point. Now that the Pro Bowl is played the week before the Super Bowl, the teams with a major fingerprint on the AFC and NFC rosters could change the Pro Bowl landscape if their teams make it to the Super Bowl.
The Baltimore Ravens had seven players selected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday. Only the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers had more Pro Bowl players. This marks the fifth Pro Bowl for Suggs, who has received an invitation in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
The Red Wings have removed Jan Mursak from IR
The terms of the CBA allow the Detroit Red Wings? to send Mursak down to play with the Griffins for no more than 14 days without forcing him to clear waivers. Mursak, 23, has been on Detroits Injured Reserve List since late-September after fracturing his ankle during a pre-season game versus the Chicago Blackhawks at Joe Louis Arena.
Mursak has been skating with the Detroit Red Wings when he could, but this will give him some game experience to get back up to speed. Counting tonight's game at the Lake Erie Monsters, Grand Rapids will play six games during the two-week stretch in which Mursak is eligible to remain with them: Two home games this Friday and Saturday, then two back-to-back road games at Abbotsford next week before a final home game against the Houston Aeros on his last day of eligibility.
Mursak's return from the conditioning stint will likely run very close to the return of Patrick Eaves from the broken jaw he suffered on November 26th against Nashville Predators.
It will be very interesting to see how the roster shakes out when both of them return. If Mursak can pick up where he left off in camp, he very well could find himself in a rotation for a regular roster spot and push Cory Emmerton off the roster.

Brady misses Wednesday practice
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady didnt participate in practice on Wednesday,? since he went to get an x-ray done on his shoulder to check for a shoulder separation.
Everything has checked out just fine and Brady should be fine going forward.
For years, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady appeared on the teamҒs injury report with a shoulder injury that most believe wasnt actually an injury.
Brady is 103 yards short of 5,000 for the season, 187 yards behind Dan MarinoҒs former single-season record, and 190 behind Drew Brees current single-season record.
While there had been concern about Brady's non-throwing (left) shoulder after the Christmas Eve win over Miami, Brady is listed on the injury report as "not injury related," says the Boston Herald.
The New England Patriots havenђt attributed Bradys absence to the shoulder injury. The official report will be released later today.
