I see quite a few people have viewed your post, but none have replied. I will be the 'brave' one to ask you a question about your question: why are you asking the question "do they drug text the adoptive parents?"Not quite the question we are expecting to answer here as adoptive/prospective adoptive parents. Good luck to you.

I adopted my son from Texas. I had to have an FBI background clearance (in my state I only needed state, not federal). How long you need to stay depends on how long ICPC takes. We were there for 10 days; I've heard some other people who took longer. ICPC can depend on a lot of factors, including when in the week it gets in, what state you live in, and how many other applications they have in your state and the state the baby is born in, so it's hard to give a really good estimate. Texas does have some laws around adoption that are a bit different than other states. It worked out very well for me, but I know some other people have been a bit upset with their process. I would talk through the whole process, including finalization, with your agency ahead of time so you know what to expect.
Well, there *could* be another issue. I have a dread of medical procedures, being in clinics, hospitals, etc. Have been healthy as horse most of time so usually not an issue... but I would have to gear myself up for this. FWIW, I'm a "drug virgin," haven't done them, don't even enjoy alcohol, so passing would not be the issue.
