financial help for repairs

We are in the process of adoption of a biracial little boy and his half sister in the state of nj. We need to make repairs to our home and wanted to know where if any place there is a program to help with the costs of the repairs. I tried a resource dept and it was cut from the budget. Thanks

All states have a US Department of Agriculture Rural Development - which has programs to help with home repairs for low to moderate income families. Check into not for profit groups as well. Good luck!
