I foster/adopted as a single mom. I never had bio children. While it is true that some adopted kids don’t attach, the same can be said of biological children. The difference is you hear stories about foster kids (and RAD happens to adopted newborns, not just foster kids) and people think if they have bio kids, those bio kids will be perfect...and we know this isn’t true.

Let your child think that. When said child gets old enough, do an ancestry test. I also thought I had more native ancestry but according to Ancestry, i am 50% European. But please do not go “I don’t see race”. When your non white children go out in the world, society will make sure they see race.
I totally agree with ADHD and ODD being overused. My youngest has anxiety. I learned from the predecessor of this site that a certain type of anxiety comes out as aggression and that certain meds can exacerbate it. I had to beg a “professional” to prescribe anti-anxiety meds which helped 100%. Professionals have to be on board with this and be willing to learn. Good luck!
