I saw this piece with O'Reilly and Bernie Goldberg and their take on the Trayvon Martin story yesterday.
I have many problems with it but I wanted to get some of your opinions.
(O'Reilly's show is obviously an editorial program and not a news program.)
I do suggest watching the video because you get more of the gist of what they are saying as opposed to reading the text on there.
What are your thoughts?

Nick Chris is right - he has a slick way of talking that sounds okay until you go wait a minute - huh? I don't understand why O'Reilly and Goldberg cannot understand why "civil rights" leaders would be up in arms over a white man shooting a black boy - when they aren't up in arms over a black on black shooting. Me thinks "they" need to understand/look up what "civil rights" means. What angered me as well was that people listening to them would walk away believing there were no white on white shootings - there were no non-black gangs - etc - etc -etc. I usually stay as far away from Fox and/or O'Reilly as I possibly can, although I will flip there during a commercial just to see what is coming out of their mouth that I know I will disagree with. Kind regards,Dickons

I'm with GATIin our home, we only watch MSNBC and CNN. I'm a Rachel Maddow gal all the way... Personally, the few times I've seen Bill O'Reilly, I've ended up with a migraine headache, so I avoid him like the plague. Jerks have that kind of effect on me, lol.

I just got a chance to watch the O 'Donnell clips. The man was fillet, seasoned, and breaded to a point of stammering. lol His role is bizarre anyway.

:) Rachel may be the smartest person on TV!
I also enjoy "Up" with Chris Hayes and the Melissa Harris-Perry show... but I usually stream them during the week to watch later. Great, great programming!
Lawrence O'Donnell has been doing some great work on the Trayvon Martin case and he completely dismantled the Zimmerman "friend" Joe Oliver. If you haven't seen that segment, you HAVE to look it up! It's amazing!
I'm glad you saw it nickchris! Don't think he'll be going on many more shows. BTW did you see the abc footage of Zimmerman's booking? Definitely didn't have a scratch on him. They are just grasping at straws at this point... Sad part is that even if he gets convicted, it CAN'T bring Trayvon back :'(
My husband watches O'Reilly so he can argue with me and Rachel.
He's too stupid to argue on his own, needs ideas or talking points.
They both like to annoy me, and like to argue loosing battles for the fun of it, apparently.
Rachel and I always win, it's easy, they are idiots.
:D
I will give DH credit, he's arguing with O'Bill on the Trayvon Martin case big time, and I didn't even have to tell him.
Plus, for a long time he's said it's the fear-filled inside the gates you need to worry about most. :cop: :cowboy::sick: He's had several totally unnecessary incidents as a realtor, I've had just one. :grr:

We used to watch O'Reilly all the time, but I haven't seen him in almost a year. Too busy I guess, & now that my toddler's talking & repeats everything, I'm careful about what she sees on TV. Plus there's so much scary stuff on any news show. I didn't always agree with him but he was always entertaining how he got into it with the guests.
I am trying to give the benefit of a doubt, and I am not surprised at the defense efforts. Still, own up to at least a mistake, Mr. Coward needs to stop hiding.

Late to this one, but had a real eye opener of an experience when in a discussion on another board about this. My only point was that as the adult in the situation Zimmerman made countless bad decisions and was responsible for any of this happening.
My observations were dismissed because I was 'biased' having a black son.
I just about fell over.
I dislike O'Reilly but I do think there is some truth in what this article said. If Zimmerman had been black or Trayvon had been white this story would not be as big as it is. But the whole thing is so twisted. I find it really difficult to hear Trayvon news knowing that I am bringing up my black sons in this society; especially when I hear people making excuses for Zimmerman.
