I would love to start actually searching for Bfamily...but I do not have any names. I notice that a lot of folks seem to have the name of their bmom. How can I start looking if I don't have a name? Is there any way to obtain that information?
I was born in Albany, NY on January 6, 1973. I believe that my Bparents are from the Buffalo, NY area. That is basically all the information I have.
Any ideas?
I would be interested in knowing the answer to this question, as well.
A friend of mine doesn't know either birth parent's name, only knows where she was born and her own date of birth, and that her birthmother was very young (14 or 15).
They've searched high and low on the internet, registered on nearly every forum, etc. But with no results.

I've been searching for my dad's biological parents without the luxury of any birth family names. He was told the records were sealed. It is possible that I have found my grandmother (going to attempt to open records or do dna) and if I have, I did so by searching birthdates. And get this, if it is her, my dad's known birthdate was off by three weeks.
Celtic, I would go to the court where my adoption was finalized.
The clerk of the court can provide information on how to get some of what you want. NY adoptions are sealed so you are entitled to get only non-identifying info.
The clerk of the court will only give you administrative information. They will not give legal advice.
If your birth certificate does not contain information on how to get that adoption information, the state will have some form of a Bureau of Vital Statistics.
I wish you the best.
I have the same problem I do not have any names. Where do you start searching? was glad to see your post and know I am not alone.
