I have all the birth files from the adopted parents. It has all the non-identifying info. But he wants the birth parents name.
We have been told that in TX adoptions they just change the name on the certificate, and don't change the certificate number or pull the old certificate. In our case, it seems they may have pulled it.
Someone helping us told us that his certificate number shows up in the middle of the M's but with the adoptive name that starts with a C.
What database is she using that allows her to run TX certificates sequentially? Where do I need to join? She says that it is in the TX birth books in Austin, but she is using a database, not a book!! I belong to one of the big sites, and it lets me identify all the boys born in county that day, but none are M last names, and none have the same birth certificate number as our adoptee. (According to her, my database doesn't have certificate numbers)
I went to the library and they have the birth index on microfilm, but all I can think to do is a person by person, page by page search of a boy with that birth date and hopefully that certificate #.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Where do I turn from here?
She can not only run the data by certificate number, but she can run all the boys born in that county and her data includes the certificate number. Her list is identical to mine, except she has certificate numbers.
Help? What do I need to purchase or join to get the certificate numbers like that for a TX birth?
