Hey, Everyone!
I don't know if anyone on here is familiar with a program called "Rainbows" but I was given brochures and told to pass them around to people I know and I thought this would be a great place to spread the news about the program...
It's a support group for children who have experienced any type of loss-death of a parent, divorce, deployed military parent, etc. Foster and adopted children also fall under this category.
Reading straight from the brochure, the program is available for ages 4-16 (ages are split up; 4,5 and 6; 7, 8 and 9; 10, 11, 12...) and there is even a session for parents if they would like to stay.
Sim Rochonchou is coordinating the program this summer at Calvary Tabernacle church in Wrightstown, NJ. It will be held for 8 weeks Tuesday nights from 7-8PM beginning the 3rd Tuesday in June.
If anyone is interested or would like more information his e-mail address is thesim96@aol.com and his phone number is (609)-581-5541.
We have a close friend of the family who adopted a little girl several years ago and I remember I couldn't stand to be around her when she first came to live with them. She was only 7 or 8 and had such a TERRIBLE attitude problem. Her mom enrolled her in the Rainbows program and it really made a difference. She completely opened up and became the sweetest little girl.
Anyway, hope this is helpful for someone! Take care!
