I'm curious to find out if our wait has been unusually long. We started the process in November of last year, took all the classes, turned in our paperwork and had our social worker her in early March to do the homestudy. And since.... nothing.
What's the usual wait? It's been over 2 months since our first / last visit. We haven't reviewed the homestudy (I'm pretty sure it's not even done) and I can't get any response to how much longer we'll be waiting. We hear so much about how desperately fp are needed, but with this wait it makes me think differently.
Because of the lack of communication, my husband is ready to throw in the towel and say we won't foster.

That is ridiculous! Our homestudy was done and signed off on in 2 weeks.
Yes it rakes about 6 months for everything to be done unless you are uber fast, but no response is nuts! Do you know who the supervisor is for the person doing your homestudy? If so contact them and get the ball rolling!
I have no idea who the supervisor is, but I'm going to look into that tomorrow. I hate make waves, but I also hate to wait. At least now I know that it's not just me who thinks this is taking forever. Thank you ladies!
I'm updating this in case anyone is interested.
It's been almost a month since I started this thread and the homestudy is still not done. Nothing. I've been in contact with our sw, and she gives excuses and promises to be done soon, but nothing yet.
I now have a new job opportunity opening up for me. Because of the wait we've been through, I will probably take the job and forget doing fc. I'm just sick over this - all the time and money we've already put into this and NOTHING. Everyone I know is in shock - how can they have billboards up begging for foster parents, but not license those who are willing?
