How long?

Took Classes in August, open for placements in Feb, got 1st placement in May.

Took us 10 months from when I contacted DCS but I kinda drug it out because I was a tax preparer that year and really waited to take classes until after tax season. So did our initial paperwork from Jan - April. Took classes in May and June then was licensed in October. Had first placements same day license went into effect but they were only here 24 hours and waited 3 months for the second placements. I didn't know that you had to call when placement left to go back on the active list.

Orientation - Sept.Classes - Oct.Homestudy - Nov.Licensed - end of Jan.1st Placement - mid Feb.We could have gone a little faster, but the holidays held up signing off on our homestudy.

Our first meeting with our sw - November Classes - January and early Feb. Turned in all paperwork - late Jan. / early Feb. Homestudy meeting - February Still waiting to be licensed. Sigh.

First contact agency: June 2010 Classes: July 2010 Paperwork turned in: Early Jan 2011 (it took us a while as I was also working full-time and going to school full-time) 1st meeting with CW: Jan 2011 Homestudy Completed: March 2011 Licensed: April 2011 (Foster to Adopt)
