So I've come to the decision that I'm ready for a child in my life; after a lot of research and soul-searching, my first preference is to pursue domestic newborn adoption.
Some background - I'm 34 and happy in my spinsterhood :) , but I'd always imagined myself as being a mother. Since I have PCOS, I don't want to go down the biological path - I'd rather the money be spent for a child that's already here or on the way. My parents and family are super-supportive, which is wonderful.
I'm in Georgia - any references or recommendations for agencies or attorneys who have a good record for single mother adoptions? I am looking into Independent Adoption Center but I do wonder what else is out there for me.
