Lately I've been enjoying getting creative with hairstyles for my girls. With all the options I rarely even do the same style twice and I've appreciated just how versatile their hair can be. Sometimes I plan a style the night before and then try it out the next day.
Admittedly my styles are nowhere near to being like some of that really intricate work you see on the internet and probably don't look great to the experienced eye, but I think most styles have come out out fairly presentable at least.
I figured it would be fun to show you some of my work lately.
My older daughter, age 3, is spiderman obsessed so the red design is my attempt at a scary spiderman hairstyle.
Feel free to critique, give tips and add your own work.
PS I am interested in finding out more about the technique of hair threading. I like the look but it seems like it could be tedious. If you've done it, was it difficult, how long did it take, and how did it come out?
Ocean! I love them all!!! So adorable!! :) You know I'm always looking for new ideas! I love the red style! That would be great for the 4th of July coming up!
How did she do with the style with the beads up front? S loves beads, but anything touching her face drives her batty, which in turn drives me batty! lol
She came home yesterday wanting to get her hair cut because a little girl at school got one. I still haven't even trimmed it, I can't stand the thought of cutting her curls! Silly I know.

This is my favorite style from the past month or so. With the summer heat and swimming I'm having to redo styles more frequently. I really need to go buy a swim cap for her, I just don't think she'll keep it on! Anyways, here's my latest favorite.
She's precious, and I love the styles. I learned much of what I know from youtube, especially from katelynylyn. You should look her up. Her styles are adorable, and really easy to do =) Keep up the great work!!

Thanks everyone!!
KLL08, she looks gorgeous. I don't know if it's the way you take care of it or what, but she has so much gorgeous hair and it's soooo long!! Your styles are beautiful. :)
I wasn't sure how A would be with the beads in front but she did fine with it surprisingly.
A haircut, oh no!!! Banish the thought! :)
dannielleharper, those are such great tutorials... thanks for the link.
Oceanica, I really like the spiderman one. That's my favorite of all your styles so far! KLL08, you certainly rock the cornrows. I really wish I could get better at them so I could do DS's hair in them regularly. I really need to figure out a hairstyle that works for the little guy. I wish he would just shave it!
You can style some lovely hairstyles at home. Some of the cutest hairstyles are often the simplest. Try these simple hair ideas: you can easily pin your bangs back applying a funky clip or bobby pin; curl or crimp different sections of your hair using a curling iron or crimper; scrunch your damp hair with some mousse; and even just try a range of different hair components like head bands, ribbons and elastics.
