I've been matched with a baby boy due in late September. I was matched a week ago so I feel slightly in hyper drive to make sure I know what is going to happen if the birth mom goes forward and signs the surrenders?
Since it is a private adoption, will the baby be on Medicaid prior to finalization or will I be able to put him on my insurance before the finalization? If he is on Medicaid will I have to pay for the circumcision out of pocket? What about the metabiolix testing ( haven't decided if I'm going to do this, but just curious)
Also I'm in Florida and apparently the trend is to do the circumcision after being elevated from the hospital, has anyone dealt with that?
The baby is being born in Florida, but not in my area, so should I plan on bringing the baby to my chosen pediatrician as soon as I get home? Will the pediatrician be able to get the birth records?
Sorry for the crazy amount of questions, I just need a little peace of mind :)
Thanks in advance!

Our situations sound very similar. Feel free to PM me for more info.
Your attorney should draw up paperwork so that baby and bmoms (if she consents) records are released to your pediatrician. Yes, the baby will see your pediatrician for the 5-7 day old visit. The hospital pediatrician will release him.
Medicaid depends on if the emom applied and qualified. You need to make sure she has some type of insurance, Medicaid or otherwise, and in my state you can pay the premium directly to the insurance company. If she is on Medicaid, the gov pays everything. A good adoption attorney, which I didn't have, should be willing to help with some of this.
I am not sure about circumcision, but my brother has boys and I think it's considered elective.
Also, You will get a lot more responses on the general adoptive parent page
