I was just wondering if anyone had advice about trying to stay positive while waiting for an adoption situation to happen. I find that some days are harder than others. I read stories and people seem to have amazing miracles happen quickly with adoption. That hasn't been us. I'm not trying to sound bitter, I'm just trying to wait patiently, but I feel so helpless.

Hello Texas_Girl,
My husband and I are currently taking our MAPP classes and I have to admit that I started to get a little depressed after reading some threads from the Adoption forum. I was reading a lot of negativity from some of the boards but there are also some very inspirational ones too. All I can say is that every situation is different and it can be hard to stay positive. My MAPP trainer told me there are many groups out there for prospective parents out there, maybe you should find one in your area.
I wish you only the best.
Goodluck!

The only suggestion I have, because I'm in the same boat, is to find as much distraction as possible. I've been volunteering more, saying yes to more outings with friends, just trying to be busy. No matter what though I'm glued to my phone and each day ends with me feeling a little sad I didn't get a call. I keep reminding myself that things happen in Heavenly Father's time and not my own as frustrating as that can be. =0)
