My hubby and I attended orientation for Riverside County in June, and are really excited to start the process. We have waited to submit the paperwork due to the fact we are in a two bedroom apt until October. After October we would love to buy a house, if that doesn't work we will move to a three bedroom house and rent for another year. My question is should we submit our paperwork now or wait until October? I am so ready to start but I don't want to be over zealous. Thank you for any advice.
Well, a large portion of your process will be the homestudy and that would need to be where you are going to reside when you have children. You could perhaps take some of the PRIDE training now (if your county will allow it) but the homestudy will need to be done where you end up. Good luck!

I wouldn't wait, as long you are moving/buying in the same county as you are now. The process can take so long, it would not be worth the wait. We are also considering buying a house and were told that once you're certified by the state (CCL) you can give them a 30 day notice before you move and they will come out and inspect you again.
But really don't take advice from the people on this site, you should have gotten contact info for CCL and your agency during your orientation. Call them!
I wouldn't wait either. With all the training and more paperwork you'll have to do you'll probably be moving before you get to the home inspection anyhow.
Just don't have them inspect your current place and then move. That's a nightmare.
