Has anyone heard of Senate Bill 1013? I read about it in the Victorville Daily press. Talks about an increase. Just Wondering.
I haven't heard anything about an increase. Are you talking about another increase in the stipend? If so, that would certainly help.
I did get an email a few months back about the feds or the state trying to reduce or cut out completely the AAP funding.
This state is SOOO broke!

The article says the increase is effective July 1st. Increases would be about $200 a month. Check out the article if you can. It is currently under Local news. "Foster Parents get increase in rates".
WOW! That's a nice big jump. If this is the case, we may actually have a few dollars left over after paying for preschool, diapers, clothes, gas, fun times and utilities. :)...after second thought, probably not. hehe
Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.
I looked it up. The best I could tell is there is a small increase for kids fostered through the county (about $19 a month for us) and $189 for those fostered through family foster care agencies. It wasn't very clear though, so if someone else has better info, that would be nice.

We had a notice in with our check about it. We are with a FFA. My little one does not get the increase it is only for certain leves of care. My little one is an 4H and it is for the level 2 and 3's kiddos.
I use to be with a FFA agency when I first started fostering. I went county in 2008. I noticed when I was with a FFA the kids had more issues. With county if the kids have a lot issues the board & care payment is much more. Don't get me wrong. I have to work with Behavior coaches, go to more therapist appts. At least the FFA doesn't receive all the $$$. My agency didn't do hardly anything. This way I was able to enroll my FC in Little League.

Just for future reference what is AAP? Trying to know all my acronyms. Ha ha
Its assistance after adoption is finalized and is usually comparable to the monthly stipend and includes Medical and a few other things. It's kind of a incentive to get people to adopt....too bad they don't have more of an incentive to get more people to foster.
Back a year or so ago, when all the counties were court ordered to increase their families stipends to the $640(??) rate, the FFAs were not included in the order.
This just brings the FFA rate up to what the county families are getting.
